About Schooner American Eagle
This content will be taken from the overview tab of the vessel's fleet page. One of the last original Gloucester fishing schooners, American Eagle blends the function of a period yacht while keeping the charm of the western Atlantic’s working vessels. Joining the Maine Windjammer Fleet in 1986 after 53 years of fishing and a complete rebuild, American Eagle was fit for the passenger trade. The open deck space, comfortable cabins, and locally-sourced and seasonally-varied food that comes out of the galley always leave you guessing, “How could it get better than this?”
Come sail with us to experience the coastline of Maine and see the uninhabited, hard-to-reach islands. With accommodations for up to 24 guests, there is plenty of room to do as much, or as little, as you’d like, whether that is lounging in the sun with your favorite book or helping sail the schooner.
